Roycifer Circa 1979

It’s a little known fact that Pillbillies bass slapper, Roycifer, was set to appear on the Hee Haw television program in May of 1979.  He was scheduled to sing a duet with Miss Loretta Lynn. The rehearsals went extremely well by all accounts. Things quickly went south, however, when Roycifer started courtin’ and sparkin’ the Coal Miner’s Daughter. Loretta’s husband, Doolittle Lynn, soon got wind of this. Threats were made and shots were fired. Ultimately, the song was cut from the show. This photo is all that remains of Roycifer’s visit to the Hee Haw set.

  1. The very manly studs on that fine shirt kept ol’ Doolittle’s bullets from my heart, but my unrequited spark for Miss Loretta keeps it broke to this very day (sniff).
